My 50mm lanes

Why do I use my 50mm lens?

My 50mm 1.4 is a workhorse for when I'm doing journalism photography. I love how I can get close.

If you're a photographer, you probably know that there are many different types of lenses to choose from. Zoom lenses, wide-angle lenses, macro lenses, telephoto lenses... the list goes on. But there's one lens that I always have in my camera bag, and that's the 50mm lens.

Why do I love the 50mm lens so much? Well, there are several reasons. First of all, it's a very versatile lens. You can use it for portraits, landscapes, street photography, and even some close-ups. It's also great for low-light situations because it has a large aperture (f/1.8 or f/1.4) that lets in a lot of light. This also creates a beautiful bokeh effect, which is the blurry background that makes your subject stand out.

Another reason why I use the 50mm lens is that it's very affordable. Compared to other lenses, the 50mm lens is less expensive but still delivers high-quality images. It's also very compact and lightweight, which makes it easy to carry around and travel with.

But the most important reason why I use the 50mm lens is that it challenges me to be more creative. The 50mm lens is a prime lens, which means that it has a fixed focal length and cannot zoom in or out. This forces me to move around and find the best angle and composition for my shots. It also makes me think more about what I want to capture and how I want to tell a story with my images.

The 50mm lens is often called the "nifty fifty" or the "normal lens" because it has a similar field of view to the human eye. This means that it produces images that look natural and realistic, without any distortion or exaggeration. Some people might find this boring, but I think it's a great way to capture the beauty of everyday life.

So, if you're looking for a lens that can do it all, without breaking the bank or your back, I highly recommend the 50mm lens. It's a simple but powerful tool that will help you improve your photography skills and express your creativity.
